UNEVOC is UNESCO's International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training. It undertakes activities through a worldwide network of UNEVOC Centres in more than 165 countries. The UNEVOC Network is the only network of TVET institutions with a global outreach. It links and fosters interaction and learning among diverse institutions of TVET stakeholders around the world.
The mandate of UNEVOC is to advocate global TVET development through build capacity through training, consultations and conferences in the different areas of TVET and advocate global TVET development. UNEVOC’s capacity development programmes take place at different levels and through regional and international cooperation, in close collaboration with the UNEVOC Network members.
It also facilitates knowledge sharing through the publishing of TVET related research and its various online communities, including the e-Forum and the UNEVOC Network Portal. UNESCO-UNEVOC also commissions researches in TVET for capturing different perspectives, experiences, and practices to inform decision making, providing consultancies, as well as offering training possibilities.
NSDA interaction with UNEVOC
NSDA participated in TVET workshop on Innovations & Best Practices in Quality Assurance in South Asia from February 20-22, 2017 in Colombo, Sri Lanka organized by UNEVOC and Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC), Sri Lanka. During the workshop UNEVOC suggested that NSDA should be a member of the network, since it plays a strategic role in Indian TVET system. NSDA is exploring the feasibility of becoming the UNEVOC network member.
